Viral Date Snickers Bar

These vegan date Snickers bars are a healthy take on traditional sugar-loaded  snicker bar and are made with wholesome ingredients. Inspired by the viral Date Snickers Bark this recipe only requires 4 ingredients and is super easy to make. The soft and luscious dates serve as the caramel base  and the peanut butter add a protein layer and a smooth chocolate layer adds a velvety finish. Free from refined sugars and is gluten-free.

Ingredients 
20 to 24 pieces of  dates
½ cup natural peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil

Method 
First, remove the seeds from your dates.
Press your dates onto a baking sheet to form a large bar.
Or 
For an additional layer, can spread some melted chocolate on the baking paper followed by the dates. 

Drizzle on your peanut butter.

Add your chocolate chips and coconut oil into a small bowl and microwave in 30 second increments until melted, stirring every 30 seconds so the chocolate doesn’t burn.
Pour the chocolate over the  date bar, then top it off with some flaky salt.

Place your date Snickers bar into the fridge or  freezer to firm up for at least 30 minutes. This will ensure that the chocolate hardens.
