Dahi Makhana Chaat
Dahi Makhana Chaat is a sweet, tangy, and spicy, healthy chaat recipe prepared with makhana and all the crunch goodies. It is paired with some veggies and sweet and spicy chutneys making it the the perfect option for an evening healthy snack.
This recipe is quick and easy to follow as basically is a combination of yogurt, sweet and sour tamarind chutney, tangy green chutney and high fibre and low calorie makhana. This chat is just amazing in taste and is just perfect for fast during Navratri.
Ghee 2 tbsp ( for roasting)
Fox nuts (makhana) 2 cups
Thick Curd 2 cups
Powdered sugar 2-3 tbsp ( optional)
Tamarind chutney as required
Green chutney as required
Salt as required
Cumin powder/Jeera powder as required
Red Chilli powder as required
Cucumber, tomato and onion - 1 each (chopped)
*Avoid the onions if on navratri fast
Garnish
Pomegranate seeds
Roasted peanuts
Sev or aloo Bhujia
Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
Methods:
1.Set a non-stick pan on medium heat, add ghee, makhana and roast them for 7-8 minutes or till crispy.
Or
Airfry the Makhana
- Preheat Air Fryer at 350 F(180 C) for 3 minutes.
-Place the Makhana in a single layer inside the basket
- Air Fry Makhana at 180 C for 8 minutes.
- Stir the Makhana after 4-5 minutes.
Once done, move to a bowl
2. Add the curd and powdered sugar in a bowl and whisk it with a fork till smooth.
3.Add roasted makhana and mix well.
4.Now let's make the Chaat👇
Add the required proportion of makhana and curd mix in your serving bowl. Now add a spoon each of cucumber 🥒, tomato🍅 and onions 🧅. Drizzle tamarind chutney( meetha chutney) , green chutney, sprinkle some salt, chilli powder and jeera powder.
Lastly garnish with some pomegranate seeds, roasted peanuts, sev and freshly chopped coriander leaves.
