Indian Sweet-Healthy Paneer Peda

Paneer is an Indian cottage cheese which we use in making many Indian dishes and desserts. One of the desserts is peda; this  Peda melts in the mouth leaving the soft sweet taste that you can’t resist. It is made with simple ingredients available at home and is an easy and quick recipe. So let's get into the ingredients😊

Ingredients
1 cup paneer( store - bought or homemade)
4-5 tablespoon powdered white sugar ( or white sweetener of choice like stevia)

Pinch of cardamom powder(optional)
Dry fruits for garnish (optional)
1 tablespoon milk (optional)
Saffron strands for orange colour( optional)
Pistachios and pumpkin seed for green colour (optional)

Method
1.Take fresh paneer in a bowl and mash it well with hand till you don't feel the grainy texture
2.Now, add powdered sweetener and make a smooth dough.
3.If the dough is crumbly add 1 tablespoon of milk.
4. If you don't want to make different flavours or colours then in the above dough while kneading you can add   cardamom powder or even just chopped dry fruit. This is followed by dividing the dough into small balls. Press a little to make peda shape.
Note-Apply some ghee on your hand while making the pedas as makes the process smoother

5. As to imitate the Indian flag colours I used saffron soaked in milk to get the orange colour and crushed some pistachios and pumpkin seed in the blender for the green colour.

So the dough was divided into 3 portion
1. One being the simple white peda dough with some  saffron strands mixed into the dough

2. In the second portion of the dough added some saffron soaked in milk and then made the pedas

3. For the third portion I made the pedas and then coated with the Pistachio pumpkin seed powder

All the pedas can be garnished with chopped dry fruits.
Use immediately or keep refrigerated for a week.
