Review :Gluten-Free Brownies
If there’s one person I trust with cakes it’s "Bake With Shivesh." The beloved author and blogger has a unique ability to make cakes and desserts not only look delectable but also easy. So when it came time to pick out an Oat brownie recipe , Bake with Shivesh-Gluten Free Brownies recipe was a no-brainer.
The recipe is simple — it doesn’t call for using cake flour or fancy ingredients or techniques. It seemed super easy and looked absolutely delicious, so I was eager to give it a try.
Method
How to make the brownie is firstly, start by greasing the brownie tray and preheat the oven. Now in a large bowl beat together the jaggery powder(finer the better)and vegetable oil(odourless) until well combined. The recipe then asks for melted chocolate to be added into this mixture( but I have made even without adding the melted chocolate but if your a die-hard chocolate lover do not omit the step)
Add the eggs and beat well, this is one of the crucial steps.
Now fold in the oat flour, ground almonds, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt and mix until there are no flour pockets.Gently and slowly is the key here. Add the vanilla and mix well.
Either you can fold the chocolate chips in the batter or pour into the brownie tray and top it with the chocolate chips and ( I used some walnuts too).
Another crucial step is the baking time as for a goey/soft texture bake @ 180 for around 30-35 min but it will become cakey when baked for 40 min and over. Let it cool and then cut and enjoy.
Just to fancy it up I added a swirl of melted chocolate on the brownie and also had a batch served with some custard( my dad loves his custard).
Just a note - Store the brownie in an airtight container and microwave the brownie before serving.
The thing I loved about this recipe was how easy and "chocolatey" it was although using gluten-free flour such as oat flour. Compared to some of the other recipes I have tested, this one came together in a fraction of the time and didn’t require multiple bowls or immense cleaning. It was one of the lowest-effort cakes that had the highest payoff, and that’s something to celebrate and the brownie batch got over in less than a day. I will definitely be making this brownie again, and fully recommend it to anyone looking for a glutenfree brownie recipe.
