Chilli Garlic Mushroom
Mushrooms are although classified as a vegetable they are botanically a fungi. They are so versatile that they can be used in soups, stir-fry, stuffing and even stand alone dishes. One of the ways I enjoy having it is cooking it in a spicy sauce and pairing it with some mash.
So lets see how thats made-
Servings 2 to 3
1.5 cup of Mushroom(sliced)
1/ 2 cup Onion (finely chopped)
2 Tbsp Olive oil /Butter
For the chilli garlic paste
6 to 7 Cloves of Garlic
3 to 4 Dried Red Chillies
3 /4 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
1 Tsp Stevia/Any Sweetener
2 Tbsp water (+1 Tbsp if required)
Red chilli powder for colour (1tsp)
Salt
Method
Step 1
Put the dried red chillies in lukewarm water for atleast 30 minutes
Step 2
Add all the ingredients of the chilli garlic paste into a blender jar. Blend to form a smooth paste and keep aside
Step 3
Heat a pan with some butter and add the finely chopped onion and saute till slightly brown.
Step 4
Add in the blended chilli garlic paste and saute till the rawness/ raw smell reduces (atleast for 3 to 4 minutes).
Step 5
Add in the mushrooms and cook on medium flame till the mushrooms are cooked to your liking(say about 3 to 5 minutes). Taste and add salt if required.
Serve with mashed cauliflower or Low-carb flat bread
Serve hot 🔥
Note
The 3 to 4 dried red chillies provide a medium spice to the dish. One can add more to increase the spice level.
